BigCommerce terms of service

Champ for BigCommerce · Effective 6 November 2026

These terms govern use of Champ for BigCommerce. Installing Champ on a BigCommerce store means accepting them. Champ for Shopify has its own terms.

Who provides Champ#

Champ is provided by . In these terms, "Champ", "we" and "us" mean , and "you" means the merchant whose BigCommerce store installs Champ.

The service#

Champ provides community software served into a BigCommerce merchant's Stencil storefront through a storefront page and script, together with a management app inside the BigCommerce control panel. Headless storefronts, including Catalyst, are not supported yet. Features may be added, changed or removed over time; material removals are announced in advance by email.

Your account#

You are responsible for activity by the control panel users who can open Champ, and for the settings they choose.

Fees#

Champ has three monthly plans: Starter ($19), Growth ($49) and Scale ($149), in US dollars. Plans are billed by BigCommerce and appear on your BigCommerce invoice. Each store gets a 14-day free trial with every feature on, starting at the first install; a reinstall does not restart it. No charge is made during the trial.

You can change or cancel your plan inside Champ. After a cancellation, your plan stays active until the date BigCommerce shows for the end of the period already paid for. Fees are not refunded for a partial period. If no plan is active after the trial, the community stays readable but members cannot post until a plan is chosen; no data is deleted. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Your content#

Community content belongs to you and to the members who wrote it. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the licence needed to host, transmit, back up and display that content in order to operate the service.

You are responsible for what is posted in your community: for moderating it, for complying with the law where you and your customers are, and for the privacy notices your customers are shown. Champ gives you moderation tools; it does not moderate on your behalf.

Acceptable use#

Do not use Champ to host content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that exists to distribute malware or spam. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service or to another merchant's data. We may suspend a store that is doing any of these, and will explain why.

Availability#

We work to keep Champ available and back the database up nightly, but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee. Planned maintenance that requires downtime is announced in advance where practical.

Termination#

You may cancel your plan or uninstall Champ at any time. We may terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if required by law, giving notice and a chance to fix it where the situation allows.

Liability#

To the extent the law permits, Champ is provided "as is", and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose.

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or relating to the service, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law#

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the service will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, and you and we submit to their jurisdiction.

Changes and contact#

We will post material changes here and email merchants before they take effect. Questions: support@getchamp.net.
